Top 10 JAVA Scripts

You may remember that our favorite JAVA script website is no more – so we’ve found another site and updated the links for the various effects discussed in our previous post.  In this case the pages we’ve linked to will give you a selection of scripts to choose from.  Sometimes ‘one size does not fit all’.

Note:  You may encounter a ‘Welcome’ page the first time you visit a link,  to get around the ‘Welcome’ if you don’t want to watch it, close out the page and then re-visit the desired link – the ‘Welcome’ will be gone.

Page Navigation

1. Add to Favorites/Bookmark – These scripts will launch the browser Favorites window to bookmark the current page.

2. Local Search – This script can be used to create a drop down search box for your Web site, just like we use on our forums. You can also create drop down search forms, hint boxes, and menus.

Miscellaneous Scripts

3. Email this page script – This script is a solution for those that want to add a “Send this Page to a Friend” feature to their site.

4. Gallery Viewer – Customizable JavaScript library for easily turning your images into a collection viewable as a slide-show, and with fading effects, if desired. It also supports automatic thumbnail creation and tagging of images.

5. Text Effects – Assorted scrolling text effects

6. Rotating Banner – Assorted scripts to achieve rotating banners

7. Enlarge an Image – Four (4) scripts to enlarge an image

8. Rotating Images – Display your images in a rotating sequence.

9. Simple Image Gallery – Three (3) different scripts to display images, one at a time, on your Web page.

10. Streaming Banner – Three (3) results for streaming banners. (We covered this script in depth in our post of June 8. Read more here.)

Not all JAVA scripts work in all browsers. Therefore, if you plan on using a JAVA script, check it out using the top browsers to see if it is working and also to see if it looks like it should. Remember, you must upload the pages with JAVA scripts to check them out and proof them.

**Note: All script names and descriptions have been taken from the web site; the script descriptions and claims to action have been made by the script’s writers,. PTEM does not make any claim to ownership to any script.
